Field Operations Consultant - DealShield

The Assurance Protection Solutions (a.k.a., “DealShield”) group of Cox Automotive’s Inventory Solutions unit, is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with 2 - 4 years of experience as Business Operations Consultant – Field (BOCF). This individual will be responsible for ensuring successful business operations and support of DealShield products at DealShield’s network of wholesale vehicle auctions (“DS Network”). This network is currently comprised of over 115 Manheim and independent auctions and is expected to grow through the addition of more auctions into the network over the next several years. The BOCF will also be responsible for other initiatives within the Protection Solutions portfolio and will act as a liaison between DealShield’s core operations team and auction constituents throughout the United States. Further, the BOCF will interact, at times, with DealShield’s current and prospective dealer clients at these auctions.

This individual, as a key member of the auction support team, ensures healthy relationships with DS Network auctions and is responsible for the operational performance of these auctions. The BOCF supports the auction onboarding process for new network auctions, including conducting training at new auctions and providing on-site support when DealShield launches at these new auctions. These team members will also provide ongoing support and follow-up visits to network auctions.

This role is a critical bridge between DealShield Leadership and DS Network auction management teams. The individual also works closely with internal DealShield functions, including business operations, sales management, technology, finance, marketing, customer management, and customer service. As such, the individual is a primary ‘problem solver’ for issues that come up on a day-to-day basis.

Candidates should thrive in a metrics-driven environment and have a solid understanding of automotive, business operations, financial, and technology functions. They should be comfortable working in a true team environment that is fast-paced and dynamic and will be expected to juggle many initiatives and efforts in parallel. Structured organization and thinking are a must, as they will participate in cross-functional initiatives. At the same time, candidates must be able to quickly master DealShield’s operational platforms, in order to conduct research and analysis in their role as “problem solver.” Candidates must demonstrate effective communication, genuine interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a diverse team environment with individuals and groups across DealShield, Cox Automotive, Manheim Auctions and independent auctions.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

·Relationship Management

oProvide on-site support at DS Network auctions.

oMaintain relationships with DS Network auction representatives.

oServe as primary point of contact for multiple DS Network auctions.

oTrain new auctions on DealShield operations.

oAct as a liaison between DealShield sales managers and auction sales representatives.

oRepresent DealShield to dealers in the field and leverage firsthand learnings to incrementally improve DealShield’s approach.

oListen and understand auction needs, crafting solutions within the parameters of DealShield’s product portfolio and strategic objectives.

·Operational Management

oResearch and analyze root cause of day-to-day issues that arise within normal auction operations.

oMonitor DS Network auction performance to ensure success.

oEnsure efficient and appropriate administration of DealShield products and related business rules.

oDevelop and execute action plans to address ineffective situations.

oRespond to auction requests and needs; anticipate situations and act proactively.

·Personal Leadership & Ambassadorship

oSelf-manage time and tasks, setting priorities based on need, urgency and strategic importance.

oFollow-through on commitments to DS Network auctions and others on the DealShield team.

oHave a thorough understanding of Protection Solutions, its products and services, and its goals, objectives and performance.

oEmbrace discussion and feedback by and from all team members to encourage participation and buy-in; be open, honest and direct in a respectful manner.

oBe willing to attend and/or travel to Cox Automotive, industry and auction meetings and events, including presentation and discussion of DealShield’s and its products/services.

·Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

·Proven track record of building relationships.

·At least 3 years of experience in automotive, business operations, sales and/or business development capacities.

·Ability to work independently and proactively to develop solutions with minimal guidance.

·Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple changing priorities, initiatives and programs under very tight deadlines.

·Strong teamwork ethics, including willingness to share information and communicate in an open, honest and direct manner.

·Embraces change and always looking for the most effective and efficient means to the right end.

·Proven operational, analytical, problem solving and technical skills.

·MS Office Suite proficiency, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

·Flexibility to travel up to 75% of time.
